Celebrating 102 Years of Agricultural

Shows

Ganmain Show Society

2010 Show Saturday 21st August

Welcome to the Ganmain Show Society’s website. The 102nd Ganmain First Ganmain Show promises to live up to the standard set by our dedicated committee over recent years. It will feature all our regular competitions and classes that are the backbone of any agricultural show. In addition we have secured some new attractions and created several new competitions.

New competitions include The Great Ganmain Pie Eating Contest; first heats will commence midday, and a fishing competition with generous prizes. New attractions include a motocross stunt team performing jumps late in the afternoon, BMX bike stunt riders and trotting trials.

This year will see the return of Ganmain and district’s most famous industry, haystack building. A team of men will begin building the butt of a 25 tonne round haystack on Friday and they will cap the finished work of art on Saturday afternoon. Accompanying the stack building will be an operating reaper binder that will demonstrate how sheaf hay is made. This is the only agricultural show in NSW where you can witness this rare trade in action.

The show will conclude with the motocross stunt demonstration followed by the fantastic fireworks finale.

Please note electronic copies of the 2010 Ganmain Show schedule will be available by the end of June. Also judging times in the main pavilion have reverted back to Saturday morning Show day. Entries will close 5:00pm Friday 20th August and pavilion exhibits must be in place by 8:30am Show day so judging can commence.

Finally I would like to wish all exhibitors and patrons a successful and enjoyable 2010 Ganmain Show.
